Big Sugar rolling in for Sarnia gig - The Observer
Article by Daniel Punch
It's not hard for Gordie Johnson to find inspiration in a place where Willie Nelson drives by in his golf cart.
The Canadian-born frontman for reggae-rockers Big Sugar moved to Texas a decade ago. There he found a culture that lined up perfectly with his approach to music and life. And it doesn't hurt running into Nelson and members of ZZ Top at an Austin-area recording studio.
I've got good role models walking around everywhere, Johnson said.
Moving down there was a natural progression.
